Texas A&M Player Ratings UpdateJanuary 26, 2006 Here is a look at my player ratings for A&M after last night's loss to KU. The "Change" column could be a rough guide to who had a good game, but keep in mind that because these are relative rankings, the categories that provide a bigger boost to a player may not be the ones you might think. For example, if the team is shooting FT's poorly, then someone who did even average at the FT line may gain more than someone who had 3-4 steals on a night when the team had tons of steals. Here's some highlighted individual components for a few of the interesting players. These are standardized ratings, meaning they are graded "on a curve" against the rest of the team. These individual ratings then get multiplied by weightings (that are different for a small, combo, or big) to add up to a composite rating. I don't want to get into too much more detail because it's confusing enough as it is to most people probably. But for what it's worth, check out the standardized component ratings for three of the players:
