| Offensive and Defensive Performance
Using the outcome of the game and the adjusted offensive and defensive efficiencies for each team, performance indicates (in PTS per 100 Possessions) how each team would have fared against an average team. That is, KU's offensive performance is how many points per 100 possessions KU would have scored against an average defense. This provides a standard performance we can compare across teams. | (pts per 100 poss) | Kansas | Baylor | | Offensive Performance | 125.8 | 131.5 | | Defensive Performance | 96.2 | 96.3 | | ANALYSIS: Basically, the Bears outperformed Kansas and still lost. Remember what these performance numbers mean though. It represents what the results would be if these teams put forth the same effort against the NCAA average team. So, while Baylor did better in an adjusted comparison, the fact that they were playing a better team is the cause for their loss. In summary, both teams played slightly better than the average team defense but sizzled on offense, particularly Baylor. | Four Factor Analysis(actual statistics moved down)
