| Offensive and Defensive Performance
Using the outcome of the game and the adjusted offensive and defensive efficiencies for each team, performance indicates (in PTS per 100 Possessions) how each team would have fared against an average team. That is, KU's offensive performance is how many points per 100 possessions KU would have scored against an average defense. This provides a standard performance we can compare across teams. For the exhibition games, I am estimating team efficiencies. For Kansas, I am using the #24 offensive efficiency and defensive effiency from last season, reflecting KU's AP ranking of #24. For Washburn, I am using the #300 offensive and defensive efficiencies, reflecting a fairly weak team but leaving room for them to be somewhat decent for their lower division. | (pts per 100 poss) | Kansas | Washburn | Offensive Performance | 112.2 | 114.2 | | Defensive Performance | 113.0
| 107.0
| Comments Kansas won this game handily, but it was Washburn that performed better, considering strength of opponent. In particular, the Jayhawks really struggled on defense. Neither team played well defensively, but KU's effort was truly shameful. | Four Factor Analysis(Actual statistics moved to Game Projections table below) What did the difference in this statistic mean to each team? | Scoring Margin Advantage Gained (not necessarily supposed to add up to final margin) | | Statistic Measured | Kansas | Washburn

| | FT Rate | KU 41-29% | Bottom Line
| An overwhelming shooting advantage put this game away for the Jayhawks. Washburn held the advantage on the boards, but this was mitigated by KU's advantage in shooting percentage at the FT line. | | |
