Interesting article written after the author attended the Joint Statistical Meetings.  He writes of at least three statisticians who have studied interesting questions in sports including:

  • Who's more important in preventing stolen bases, the pitcher or catcher?
  • Is Tiger Woods winning majors at an unusually high rate?
  • What college football characteristics make for a sure bet NFL quarterback?
